What is the Four Learning Styles Assessment?
The Four Learning Styles Assessment is a powerful tool designed to help you understand how you prefer to absorb, process, and engage with information. Adapted from the work of Sharon Bowman, M.A., this assessment identifies your primary and secondary learning styles, providing insights that can enhance your learning experiences, communication, and team dynamics.
Why Take the Assessment?
On any given day at Iridium, we may be working with clients in 1:1 Leadership Coaching sessions, Team Coaching with 6-10 team members, or providing In-House Leadership Development with as many as 30-40 people in any given cohort. We have come to understand that learning styles and preferences can be quite different. What works for one person may not resonate with another.
Knowing clients’ predominant and secondary learning styles allows us to tailor the learning and coaching experience so they can more effectively hear, understand, and retain information in the way that suits them best.
Understanding your learning style is crucial for personal and professional development. By knowing whether you are an Analytical, Practical, Creative, or Social learner, you can tailor your learning strategies to be more effective and enjoyable. This knowledge can help you:
- Improve your study habits by focusing on methods that suit your style.
- Enhance communication with colleagues and peers by understanding their learning preferences.
- Boost team dynamics by leveraging the diverse learning styles within your group.
What to Expect from the Assessment
The assessment consists of a series of statements related to each of the four learning styles. You will rate these statements on a scale from 1 (no) to 5 (definitely). The survey platform will then analyze your responses to determine your primary and secondary learning styles. The entire assessment should take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete.
